Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born on Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents in honor of the town where she grew up. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated to Mendocino County California. There were no electric lights. Ryder, who was an avid reader at the age of 12, became a bookworm because Ryder had no access to television. Ryder aged 12 took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Lucas The film from 1986 which was her first big role. Ryder was just fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her hope was that her acting career would alter this. Sadly, this didn't occur. But that didn't stop her making plans for her future. In 1988, she got her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles. In 1993, she was nominated twice in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part as a character in The Age of Innocence.
