April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of a few female players of beach volleyball that have achieved this feat. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and is set to join her in Tokyo. Ross is hoping to secure the Olympic debut gold however, she also hopes to win even more. It may well be that it is her last opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. She remains optimistic that she will be able to win top awards. If we play our best or even if we do well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. "I'm also going to try some luck." Ross was born in Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and sister were residents there. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she was a participant in indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running track. While she did well at indoor volleyball, it was clear that her skills were above average. As a time at the high school level as per her college biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. The award was presented to her as the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started the partnership in 2017, but Ross was a beach scene celebrity for a long time prior to. It's true that she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments and one partner was an all-star volleyball player. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were a formidable force in the world circuit, winning a 2009 world title together. The pair eventually picked up an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, beat them out to win the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. The duo won the beach volleyball bronze at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a player for the Trojans of USC in her college years after she graduated high school. Ross's time in the Trojans was remarkable. When she was a freshman in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. The Trojans had the chance to make it to the Final Four with her help. The Trojans were devastated by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she went on to be an All-American again. Through her two final years in the Trojans team, she led the Trojans to winning a national title every year. The individual accomplishments of her have established her as a volleyball legend. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross was who was a USC international relations student, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the privilege of watching her daughter grow into an international beach volleyball star. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer while she was a sophomore at USC. In the aftermath, Ross remains close to her parent who died. Margie is a source of inspiration, both off and on at the beach.
